- Division of Research and Extension strengthened Pwani University’s community engagement mandate through strategic partnerships and outreach initiatives. On 7th August 2025, the University partnered with the East African Grain Council (EAGC) to co-host an Agribusiness Exhibition that brought together farmers, traders, researchers, and agribusiness stakeholders to exchange knowledge, showcase technologies, and explore market opportunities.
Similarly, on 23rd August 2025, the University collaborated with COCO FM to host a Farmer Exhibition, which provided local farming communities with access to improved practices, innovations, and value-chain linkages.
On 25 th September, 2025: Pwani University hosted the first-ever security platform in Kenya dubbed: Jukwaa la Usalama wa Wasomi, involving representatives from Pwani University student’s leadership, Medical Training Colleges, Vocational training Institutions in Kilifi County, the County Government of Kilifi, Pwani University Management represented by the Dean of Students, Dr. Patricia Mbogo, the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Halimu Shauri, the County top security team led by a representative of the County Commissioner, Kilifi County.
Pwani University hosted the Kilifi Medical Services Week 2025, on 31st October – 2nd November 2025, in collaboration with COCO FM, the George Kithi Foundation, and the Sabrina Foundation. The event sought to provide free medical services, health education, and community outreach to the residents of Kilifi County. Staff and students, particularly from the School of Health and Human Sciences, are encouraged to participate actively in-service delivery, coordination, and support roles. This initiative aligns with the University’s commitment to community engagement and societal transformation as outlined in the Pwani University Strategic Plan 2023–2027. All members of staff are requested to support and participate in this noble community service exercise.
The Commercialisation and Entrepreneurial Institutional Leaders (CEIL) Summit, organised by the Kenya National Innovation Agency (KeNIA), is an annual event that brings together institutional leaders, industry stakeholders, innovators, and researchers. The summit aims to advance the national commercialisation ecosystem by strengthening commercialisation processes at the national, institutional, and individual levels. It provides a platform to showcase practical solutions developed by innovators within Universities and Technical and Vocational Colleges, addressing job and wealth creation.The theme for the CEIL Summit 2025 is Catalyzing our African Innovation and Entrepreneurial Ecosystems, which emphasises the importance ofrobust innovation ecosystems in driving sustainable economic development. It underscores the need for effective industry-academia linkages,strategic institutional frameworks, and resilient funding mechanisms to foster innovation and entrepreneurship across the continent. The event was held on September 11-12, 2025.
